According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 362,470, while the larger metropolitan area has a population well over 5,000,000. By the year 2010, the population in the City is projected to rise to over 400,000. Miami which is known as the Gateway to Latin America attracting people from Cuba, Nicaragua, Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rica, Argentinea, Ecuador, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Haiti and Mexico. Miami is also a very popular place for Europeans to both live and visit, truly making it an international city.
